zoom  Al ColosseoThe apartment is located in Largo della Polveriera just behind the Colosseum, in a building of the late 19th century. It is of 60 square meters and was recently renovate.
Turistic attractions nearby: Foro Romano, Fori Imperiali, Palatino, San Giovanni in Laterano, Terme di Diocleziano, Terme di Caracolla, Quirinale etc.

At the entrance, there is the living room with two sofa-beds next to the bedroom which has a double bed (1.40 mts large) and a big wardrobe. The bathroom has a modern sink, bidet, wc and a comfortable shower. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen next to the dining room overlooking the charming internal courtyard.

For our guests who will stay with us for a week or more we organize a free half day private tour run by Ilaria, a certified guide, in one of Rome’s breath taking historic site.

Location



The apartment is located in Largo della Polveriera just behind the Colosseum, 100 m from Metro Station Colosseo line B. Metro Line B is the direct link to the Termini Train Station, just two metro station from Colosseum.

From Fiumicino Airport we suggest you use the train to reach Stazione Termini it will take you 1/2 hour.
From Ciampino Airport you may use bus.

St. Peter's Chains (The statue of Moses of Michelangelo) 100M on foot.

The Basilica Endossiana (5th century) to day known as San Pietro in Vincoli.
In the church you can see the imposing statue of Moses realized by Michelangelo to adorn the tomb of Pope Julius II.

Colosseum 200 m on foot
Just few steps from home you can admire the magnificent Anfiteatro Flavio, the Colosseum, inaugurated in 80 AD, scene of gladiatorial combats, consacrated in 1719 by Pope Benedict XIV in memory of the Christians who had been martyred there.

Roman Forum 200 m on foot.
An unforgettable walk on the steps of the Caesars.
From the first forum of Rome up to those of Emperors Augustus,Vespasian, Nerva and Trajan.
Along this journey is the place where the body of Julius Caesar was displayed. Julius Caesar was assassinated on the 15th of March 44 BC (the Ides of March). Up to now flowers are deposited by passers-by on this date.

The Palatine Hill 300 metres on foot. Is one of Rome's Seven Hills. The area contains ruins of important palaces built by the Roman Emperors. Is one of the most enchanting places for its beautiful gardens and pretty views over the Forum.

Altar of the Nation or Vittoriano 500 metres. Walk from Colosseum along Fori Imperiali Road up to Piazza Venezia. At the death of Vittorio Emanuele di Savoia, first King of Italy ,on the 9-1-1879 it was decided to build a monument on his memory. The architect was Giuseppe Sacconi and the monument was inaugurated on the 4-6-1911. From 1921 is also the tomb of Italy's Unknown Soldier. From 1935 is the place of the Museo Centrale del Risorgimento Campidoglio.

Capitoline Hill on foot 500 m
or by bus 60 express 1st stop from Colosseun or buses 87 85 571 271. An extraordinary complex of monuments stand on this hill: the ruins of Jove Capitolino, the church of Santa Maria in Ara Coeli with its medieval and rinascimental art treasures, the Capitoline Museum founded in 1474 by Pope Sisto IV who donated part of his private collections, Piazza del Campidoglio a square laid out by Michelangelo, the Palazzo Senatorio built on top of the state Archives of ancient Rome and, since 1143, is Rome's Town Hall.

Circo Massimo on foot from Colosseum subway line B-1st stop.
Is the place where carts races were held.Romans were very keen and enthusiats to attend to carts racing. Was re-built by various emperors in the course of the years. Today is a beautiful garden, a nice walk along a track (600 m by 200m) surrounded by imperial palaces with a magnificient view.
St.John in Laterano on foot along Stradone San Giovanni or by bus N. 85 850 87.

St. Clemente Church on foot 5 minutes 300 m
